So I was picking up some accessories for my rifle and talking to the gentleman behind the counter about coyotes in the area (Triggers and Bows in Burford), and he said just after may 1st to start calling with a fawn distress call to get great results. He had a wall of pictures up of a group of 4 guys that came in on a weekly basis to pick up more ammo last year because they were knocking down so many yotes. They said thats all they were doing. Fawn distress.
So, that being said, I grabbed myself a fawn distress call and plan to head out in about 3 weeks time. Any of you guys had luck with the fawn distress? Im anxious to get out and try it. _______________________________________________________________________ LABATE I'm having an affair with the outdoors. The wild is my mistress. |

I think coyotes hammer fawn's in the spring. I'm planning on making a few stands when I get some time. Fawn distress and any moving decoy would work great I would think. Its just so hard to spot them without snow, That will be hard to do in a couple months when the grass gets longer, they sneek right in.

I will also try a few stands using a fawn call.

I was out for a few hours this morning into the afternoon scouting Turkeys with Coyote gear with me and didn't see anything, anywhere. I tried a couple of sets, but,no luck. No deer around, either, What a beautiful day to be out, though.

If you can find a fence line with cover try sitting between the posts of the fence, Barbed wire or Sheet wire both work. Tie a cord to the top wire of the fence so you can make the fence shake. Shake the fence (the sound travels a long way down the wire), and then make a few bleats. Try to sound uncomfortable with the first couple calls then start to panic some, but not to the point of freaking out.
