Frenchie, The more research I do the more I am finding guys seem to get better results using some type of diver. I've read this so much in fact that I am now considering getting just 1 down rigger as yesterday I purchased 3 different divers for use on my second rod.
I’m going to run 30lb Ande Mono for my rigger and get some 30lb Fireline Braided for the rig with the diver, both outfits will have 50lb Seaguar flouro leaders. Jeff _______________________________________________________________________ My Kid has more Chromosomes than your Kid |

Frenchie...i would think you might want to scale the line back for walleye.....i'm sure you can use it but i dont think its needed...and im sure with the heavier line might not get the best action on body baits either....thats just my thought though....

run the dypsie on 7 strand wire instead of braid. dives deeper and flies dont stick as well and the fight is incredible as you feel every shake and pull.

I think braid is a good place to start though...and then maybe work your way on to wire....7 strand will kink...and for a newbie...i don't think its a good place to gain confidence..JMO
